I bought a 2000 because after talking to a cessna rep. previous models were just not up to par. 2000 is when everything came together. Production ceased in 1984, Cessna had to hire and train all new personal for the new 182's due to labor wage concessions by the government.
This 182 has a little over 150 hours since a major overhaul at the Lycoming factory. The Prop was overhauled and has less then 20 hours.
I have never ran this engine lean of peak. I have always considered fuel to be much less expensive the an engine.
This 182 climbs out like a rocket, the three bladed prop is very smooth and allows for far greater ground clearance. As you can see the engine is very accesable and easy to work on.
This plane has always been flown very consevative and has no damage history.
Fuel capacity is 92 gallons which gives you a range of about 1000 miles.
My bladder makes it about 350 miles. It does come with a pee bottle!
I have had this over the great cascade mountains in Canada which was aboslutly breath taking. Flying over the rocky mountains of Idaho with no worries. This plane fly's in and out of Lake Tahoe painlouusly. I ahve enjoyed this plane so much....... time to move on |
